America's Lady of Supernatural Thrillers

“Raven's Cove, a great mystery by Mary Ann Poll. Avoid it when winds are gusting to hurricane speed outside. No extra creepiness needed.”
~Bonnye Matthews

When I was a child, I thought as a child; I spake as a child; and I was afraid of giant bugs in the dark of my bedroom. When I was a... teenager, I put away such childish things, but I did become afraid of hunting with old drunks. When I became a man, I learned and earned some fears, such that I don't walk through tall grass, nor do I go to fireworks display. I had thought myself to be pretty well adjusted after all; until one day, a spider came and sat down... beside me... and introduced me to Mary Ann Poll and her creepy Ravens Cove. To be brief, it is a well-written horror story with ghosties and ghoullies and three-legged beasties and things that go bump in the night all set in a passion play with a Christian leitmotif playing out in the dark. I read it; my teeth chattered, etc., but who doesn't like a good old scare once in a while? Read Ravens Cove with the lights on and enjoy it.

The Ultimate in Good vs Evil (5.0 out of 5 stars)

I really enjoyed this story! Poll has the ability to build real suspense and walk you through danger as if you are right there. Can't wait to get started on her next book!

Christian horror novel exhibiting spiritual warfare (4.0 out of 5 stars)

A novel about spiritual warfare executed in a colorful and zingy manner. The unseen battle manifests out of a legend into the physical. Fierce and gruesome demonic soul-hunting takes place, overcoming one person after another until... (sorry, no spoiler). This story of the supernatural genre with a dash of romance possesses a stronger bent toward horror. But fear not, there is hope. Although Ravens Cove set in Alaska is part of a series, it is also a fine standalone with a compact plot and rightfully satisfying conclusion.

“Bottom line: if you want a fun, Christian-fueled book where good triumphs over evil, then this is the series for you.”
